This charming sampler was originally stitched on a heavy muslin in March of 1872. Henriette Andriessen was a member of the prominent colonialist family in Paramaribo, Suriname. This Redwork pattern hints at Frisian handiwork and though simple, the final product is an impressive one.

- Easy pattern - great for beginners who want to try their hand with counted cross stitch or experts who just want a meditative and relatively simple project.

Stitches in the pattern are cross stitch and backstitch.
- 307 x 203 stitches
Included with the kit is:
- an easily readable printed copy of the pattern on sturdy 32 lb paper
- a brief explanation about the world Henriette Andriessen found herself living in,
- instructions on how to get started with the project,
- DMC Cotton Thread or Treenways Silk Thread depending on which kit you purchase,
- 16 Count Aida Cloth with Cotton Kit or 32 Count Belfast Linen with Silk Kit,
- 24 size needle.
